It does add substance to the topic in the title but the title should have been "Fred Harvey and the Harvey Girls"/5. This is a quick read giving an overview to the Harvey Girls.

Much appears to be "cribbed" from other sources, especially Lesley Poling-Kempe's earlier book of the same title. The same quotes, photos, comments and news articles.

As an introduction, it serves well, but was a disappointment after reading other sources first/5(11). The true story of the Harvey Girls has generated several books by the wonderful gals themselves but this book is where it all started.
